Sheer Vintage

Here is what I wore today before going out to eat at an amazing Portuguese restaurant. Unfortunately no one was home to take any good pictures so I had to use my laptop to take these pictures. Tried to show as much detail as possible, but sort of close to impossible to do! I love this outfit because it's so comfortable...everything is loose and flowy.

The gold ring is from a vintage store and it has fake diamonds (I think...) and the other ring is a pure sterling silver spoon that was my aunts from the 1970's...it was molded into a ring! I wish I could show you the beautiful detail in this ring...oh well, next time! And finally I'm wearing a necklace that my Opa (Grandfather in German) made in the 1960's in New York City. He was a jeweler back in the day and I have around 60 pieces of his work. This is actually a belt that I decided to put as a necklace...again, I wish I could show you the beautiful detail!

Otherwise I'm wearing ASOS shoes and an Antik Batik sheer long sleeved dress!

Happy Tuesday!

Art of the Day: Edouard Manet

My brother bought me a gorgeous two-book collection of Impressionism art for Christmas and I've been browsing the beautiful pages for two days now and thought I would share one of my favorite Manet paintings Gare St-Lazare.

So here are some pictures taken of what I was wearing on Christmas yesterday....very simple, but classic. I wore my favorite dress that I bought at Zara in Amsterdam (fits me like a glove), Wolford stockings, Zara heels from years and years ago, and my new antique looking bracelet I got for Christmas from Club Monaco...I am in LOVE! I was also wearing my YSL bright pink lipstick to bring some color because I tend to wear a lot of black. I added some pictures of our Christmas tree and some Christmas decorations around the house...my Mom did a good job!

I'm completely exhausted though, so many people came over yesterday and then I worked all day today. It's Boxing Day in Canada, which means that there are crazy sales in every store...it's basically the equivalent of Black Friday in the States. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I had a really nice evening with my family...had seafood pasta, wine, gingerbread cookies, candy canes, and just finished watching Love Actually. Tomorrow is the big family dinner and the exchanging of gifts! So excited!....I'll make sure to take lots of pictures :)

For now here are some pretty pictures of Christmas in Montreal!

Swedish Videos

Here is a mish-mash of some videos I've come across today. They're all Swedish...the first two are from Stockholm Street Style and then the last two are music videos of Swedish bands. I've done several posts in the past on anything and everything Swedish (because they're simply amazing) and this is just another addition! Enjoy :)

Today I went Christmas shopping with my brother and this is what I was wearing underneath my coat and scarves and mittens. Finally wore my Club Monaco lace shorts that are so comfy and pretty paired with Wolford stockings, Club Monaco cashmere t-shirt, Club Monaco striped thin sweater, and Burberry boots. Can you tell I am obsessed with all things Club Monaco?

Oh and that's my little dog Charlie in the fourth picture. I went to Westmount, which is a very quaint part of the city, to buy him Christmas treats shaped in snowmen and candy canes!

Call me crazy, but since I am 21 years old I feel like I should be doing something to prevent the wrinkles I'll be receiving later on in life so this week I stopped by Kiehl's and bought myself their avocado eye cream...just a little something to nourish the skin around my eyes! I've been using it for the last 3 days and LOVE it!

This has nothing to do with new purchases, but since Christmas is next week I thought I would share with you the view outside of my bedroom window...my mum hung small wreaths with red ribbons outside of every window in our house. I'm convinced she is Martha Stewart's long lost twin sister.

Parisian Inspiration

La Foule
Edith Piaff

Photobucket

Here is a little collage I just created on everything Parisian...hope it inspires you!
A little side note:
- The picture of the Eiffel Tower in the center is by my friend Melissa who took it while we were there with some other friends all dressed up in our black dresses eating brie and baguettes on the grass.
- The photograph on the very lower right corner is by me taken in Paris!
- The cafe shown on the bottom is one of my favorite cafe's to go to at night called La Palette (seriously the most beautiful crowd I've ever seen in my life...)

P.s. I want to thank you all for your really kind comments, seriously means so much to me :)!
And also my week is horribly busy, I just finished my finals and I am now working all day every day, so I might not post as often as I usually do, but outfit posts will come soon!

Swan Lake

Tchaikovsky

So yesterday I had quite a fun filled day, went shopping, ate at my favorite restaurant L'Entrecote St. Jean, and finally saw Black Swan! Did all of this when I should have been in the library cramming for my Politics in China final...oh well. Just a few notes: Black Swan was AH-MAZING, beyond amazing, it was a beautifully haunting movie...the costumes were breathtaking (thanks to the Rodarte sisters) and don't even get me started on Natalie Portman. All I have to say is that she deserves an Oscar award for her performance! Oh also I bought antique lace short shorts from Club Monaco. You're probably thinking hmmm, shorts in the dead of winter? But with stockings they will be gorgeous. I'll definitely take a picture of them soon!

Here is what I wore yesterday (nothing too exciting), only I changed the jacket at one point because it was just too cold. Sorry for the lack of pictures there was no one around me at the time except for my Mom who had no clue what she was doing and didn't understand why she was doing what she was doing. Better pictures in the future...promise!

Burberry boots
Zadig & Voltaire bag
Zara scarf
Zara blazer
Zara striped top
JCrew grey tank top
Club Monaco leggings
Club Monaco gloves
Michael Kors watch
Kenneth Jay Lane giraffe bracelet

What's On My Mind While Studying...

Instead of writing my Modern Fiction paper on Lolita that is due tomorrow...I am browsing the internet and watching Jamie Oliver eat soul food in Savannah, Georgia (may God bless the Food Network). Although this is fun, it is not good considering how much homework I have to do. So to put an end to this procrastinating madness I thought I would write a random post on some things I am obsessing over today so that I can get it off my chest and move onto the pages of Lolita that are calling my name. Here is a list of just 3 small things that are on my mind today (besides Lolita):

1) Montreal had a little snow storm 2 days ago and there is a good 2 feet of snow outside...very pretty, yes...but hazardous to my poor skin and lips that are slowly resembling that of a lizard. Tomorrow I plan on hitting up Kiehl's and buying this:

2) Fell in love with this sweater from Zara that I found somewhere on the internet this morning and wondered why I haven't seen this in the Zara stores yet...because I need it NOW.

3) Lastly, I want to share with you a song that has been on repeat this entire day. When I was studying fashion photography this past summer at Parsons Paris, I became friends with an amazing group of people and we had a song that represented our entire wonderful experience together: Paris (Aeroplane Remix Feat. Au Revoir Simon) by Friendly Fires. Now here is a different version of this song that is to DIE for and makes me want to go back to Paris asap! Hope you like it:
